Department Politics
Goals of the department
The department of politics has the goal and the task of establishing the Junior Chamber Berlin-Brandenburg as the mouthpiece of the young business community at eye level with politics on political, economic and social issues in our regions. We drive the creation and maintenance of overarching political positions and statements together with the districts. The Know-How Transfer (KHT) established at federal and European level will be introduced in Berlin and permanently established there and in Potsdam. In addition, we are committed to the exchange with various political representatives in cities, municipalities and the state in order to strengthen the exchange between young business and politics, to present our statements and to permanently anchor the WJ as a sparring partner for politics.
KNOW-HOW TRANSFER (KHT)
Objective: To introduce members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (WJ) to parliamentary business at the state level and to exchange business and political opinions in order to establish the WJ at eye level with state politics.
Format: 1-2.5 days in Potsdam (Brandenburg) & Berlin (Berlin) to accompany members of the Senate and the Land Parliament.
Frequency: once a year in Berlin (Berlin), once a year in Potsdam (Brandenburg)
Participants: Junior Chamber members from Berlin & Brandenburg
POLITICAL POSITIONS
Objective: To collect opinions from the young business community in Berlin & Brandenburg on current and relevant topics. In addition, these opinions are incorporated into discussions with political representatives (e.g. at “simply asked” fireside chats, the KHT or events to which young business people are invited) as well as possible political position papers (opinions, statements and demands). As the voice of Young Business, the current opinion of our members is important.
Format: Surveys, interviews such as “simply asked”, website
Frequency: Event-related but at least once a year
Participants: All Junior Chamber members from the Berlin and Brandenburg districts.
POLITICAL NETWORKING
Objective: To establish a regular exchange with politicians and the Minister-Presidents in Berlin and Brandenburg (such as “simply asked”) and to support the districts in holding rounds of talks with politicians and IHK representatives (e.g. fireside chats, fishbowls) to exchange state political topics and to network the WJ with the relevant contact persons.
Format: Interview series “simply asked”, fireside chats, fishbowls, panel discussions, interviews.
Frequency: In total approx. 3-4 formats per year
